Ted Staub, Jr's
Phoenix Lumber Co. and Railroad

LOCATION: Elgin (East)
SCALE: G
The Phoenix Lumber Co. and Railroad is a 1:20.3 rustic logging railroad set in the 1920's. The current railroad is a little over five years old with a point-to-point track plan. There is 90 feet of mainline and 30 feet of sidings. All the track is hand-laid with real wood ties and spikes. In addition, there are five hand-laid stub switches and seven bridges over dry creeks. The bridges and all of the structures are scratchbuilt.

Operations on the Phoenix Lumber Co. and Railroad are handled by a Bachmann Shay with full sound and an AirWire wireless remote control system. The rolling stock is by Accucraft with custom loads. This is a beautifully detailed, small operational railroad.

Ted was recently recognized by Garden Railways for his modeling efforts with an Honorable Mention in their Small Railroads Contest.
