Jack Merkel's
Lone Star & Santa Fe

LOCATION: Liberty Hill
SCALE: HO
SIZE: 26' x 25'
OPERATING SESSIONS: Regular, 1-11 operators
The Lone Star and Santa Fe Railroad operates from Galveston to Temple in 1961 with stops at Houston, Sealy, Brenham and Caldwell. An SP line operates from Caldwell to Giddings and Marble Falls. The layout is a linear single level design with a 170' main line, freight yard, passenger yard, staging yard, a 32' SP line, interchange yard and many industry tracks.

An operating session simulates 12 hours of real time, with a nice assortment of locals, yard work, passenger trains, and through freights. The layout is fully sceniced.

The layout operates with North Coast Engineering DCC control. It is centrally dispatched via phone and fully operational CTC signaling and uses sequential scheduling and way bills.

The layout is on the second floor, accessed via stairs.
